Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

In short: Gradients RGB stores your scores, streaks and settings on your device, and mirrors a few progress values to your own iCloud so they follow you to your other devices. We don't track you, show third-party ads, or sell your data, and you never create an account. Online play and leaderboards run through Apple's Game Center, purchases through Apple's App Store — we receive no personal data. The app sends a handful of anonymous milestone counts (such as “finished the Color IQ test”) with no identifier attached.

1. Who we are

Gradients RGB (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is developed and operated by Oleg Ruban. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].

2. Our approach to privacy

Gradients RGB is a game that works on your device. There is no account to create, no sign-up, and we do not operate servers that store anything about you. Apart from the anonymous milestone counts in Section 11, information leaves your device only through Apple services — iCloud sync, Game Center and App Store purchases, operated by Apple under Apple's own privacy commitments — or when you choose to send someone a duel link.

3. Information stored on your device

The app keeps your game data locally on your device: round scores and history, daily-challenge results and streaks, diamond balance, Color IQ rating, blitz best score, perception-profile statistics (how far your picks land from targets), and settings. Apart from the iCloud sync described in Section 4, this data stays on your device and is deleted when you delete the app.

4. iCloud sync

If your device is signed in to iCloud, the app mirrors a few progress values to Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage so they follow you to your other devices: diamond balance, daily streak and completed days, Color IQ rating and whether you have taken the test, best scores in Blitz, Survival and photo mode, perception-profile statistics, your slider preference, and the name you entered for duels. This data is stored in your own iCloud account, not on our servers — we cannot see it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, nothing is synced and the app stays local-only. You can turn it off under Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

5. Game Center (optional)

Online matches, leaderboards and achievements use Apple's Game Center. If you sign in, Apple shares your Game Center display name with the app and with players you are matched with, and receives the scores and achievements the app submits on your behalf. We do not receive or store this data ourselves — it lives in Apple's Game Center service and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. If you don't sign in to Game Center, the online mode is unavailable and nothing is submitted anywhere.

6. Real-time matches

During an online match, the app exchanges game data directly with the other players through Game Center: your display name, the colors you pick, and your round scores. This data is used only to run the match and is not collected or retained by us.

7. Duel links

When you create a duel, the link you send contains the round settings, a number that recreates the same colors, the name you typed and your score. It is sent only by you, to whoever you choose, through whatever app you share it with. If the person opens it in a browser, our web page reads the link on their device to show the challenge; our server does not store it.

8. Camera and photos

“Match the world” lets you take a photo or pick one from your library. The app reads the color inside the frame on your device and never uploads, stores or shares the image. Camera and photo access are requested only when you use this mode, and you can revoke them in Settings.

9. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules its reminders (for example, that a new Daily Challenge is ready or a streak is about to end) locally on your device. No push server is involved and no notification data is sent to us. You can turn reminders off at any time in Settings → Notifications.

10. Purchases

Gradients Pro (as an auto-renewing monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock) and diamond packs (consumables) are sold through Apple's App Store. Payments and billing are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your payment card or financial details. Your purchase status is verified on your device through Apple's StoreKit.

11. Anonymous usage counts

To learn whether new players reach the parts of the game that matter, the app sends a single message the first time each of these milestones happens on your device: first launch, finishing the Color IQ test, finishing a duel, playing a Daily Challenge, opening the app again the next day or a week later, and buying Pro. Each message contains only the milestone name and the app version.

12. What we do not do

13. Data retention and deletion

Your game data lives on your device. Deleting the app deletes it; values synced to iCloud (Section 4) stay in your iCloud account until you remove them under Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage. Game Center data (leaderboard scores, achievements, display name) is managed by Apple through your Apple ID — you can control it in your device's Game Center settings or at privacy.apple.com.

14. Children

Gradients RGB is rated 4+ and suitable for general audiences. The app contains no chat, no user-generated content, and no third-party advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; Game Center participation and purchases are subject to Apple's family and parental-control settings.

15. Third-party services

The only third party involved with your data is Apple: iCloud (progress sync), Game Center (matchmaking, leaderboards, achievements) and the App Store / StoreKit (purchases). Apple processes this data under its own terms and privacy commitments. The anonymous milestone counts (Section 11) are received by our server on Cloudflare's network.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app or on this site.
